Clarke County High School Coach Robert “Rob” Carter, 55, has been arrested in Florida on charges related to sex with a student.
According to AL.com, Carter was arrested in Niceville, FL on Friday, Feb. 21 where he was booked into the Okaloosa Department of Corrections to await extradition to Clarke County.
He is charged with 11 counts of sex with a student that four counts of a school employee engaging in a sex act with a student, four counts of distributing or soliciting obscene material from a student and three counts of soliciting a sex act with a student.
Prior to his arrest Carter was placed on administrative leave at the high school on Feb. 18 as he was being investigated by the Grove Hill Police Department, the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office and the First Judicial Major Crimes Task Force.
