A memorial tribute to civil rights leader Bernard LaFayette, Jr. and a commemoration of the first mass meeting for voting rights will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Selma on May 13. 

Program highlights include remarks from foot soldiers and leaders, a pictorial presentation of the Voting Rights Movement from 1963, music from a foot soldiers singing group, a "mini non-violence teach in", and a memorial tribute led by Sen. Hank Sanders. 

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church located on 1431 Broad Street in Selma.
