Construction on Zaxby's in Thomasville to begin 'in just a few weeks' says mayor

Construction is set to begin on a Zaxby's location in Thomasville "in just a few weeks," said Mayor Sheldon Day in an announcement on social media. 

Zaxby's is owned by Hudson Sandefur. 

"The City of Thomasville is very pleased to welcome Zaxby's to our city," Day said in a press release. "It has been a pleasure working with Hudson Sandefur and his franchise team as they prepare to enter the Thomasville retail market." 

The press release stated that Thomasville receives more than 70,000 shoppers traveling from a 6-8 county area of southwest Alabama, which has contributed "millions" of dollars over 15 years. 

More is expected as the West Alabama Highway links Thomasville with Tuscaloosa. 

"We are so excited to bring our famous Zaxby's chicken fingers and sauces to the Thomasville market this Spring," said Sandefur. We have had our eye on Thomasville since we would drive through on our way to see our kids in Tuscaloosa. With the help of Mayor Day we finally found the perfect spot to serve the community."
