The historic Court Square Fountain in Montgomery is going to get a "facelift", said an announcement from the city.Â
The Court Square Fountain has been in the city since 1885. It is adorned with statues of gods from Greek mythology and stands near other historic markers, including ones related to Rosa Parks.Â
This week the fountain's statue will be brought to Alex City for restoration.Â
"During the process, zinc priming will be applied to protect the metal from corrosion, followed by a prime coat and finish for a beautiful, long-lasting appearance," said the city's announcement of Facebook.
"After this process, the statue will be reassembled and tested for water flow and pressure. The final step will be to reinstall it at its original location in Court Square."
