A seafood company in Irvington in Mobile County is recalling one of its crab meat packages due to listeria contamination.
Listeria is especially dangerous for children, the elderly or those with a weak immune system, according to the FDA. Symptoms include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
The product is the one pound "Crabmeat: Jumbo, Lump, Finger, and Claw meat" package with the license number being AL 111-C and the batch numbers 130, 131, 132, 134, 137, 139, 141, 144, 145, 146,148, 150 at the bottom of the container.
The company is Irvington Seafood.
No illnesses have been reported but customers who have bought this product are asked to return them for a refund.
