The Crenshaw County Sheriff's Office is warning the public of a recent phone scam soliciting money. 

A post on social media by the department said that scammers attempt to collect money for unpaid fines, court summons, warrants or any legal matters. 

The post said that scammers will threaten arrest if payments are not made. The department urges anyone who receives such calls to hang up immediately. 

Anyone who receives a call is also advised to not give out any personal information and to report the call to the police.
