Betty Anderson, a cultural arts historian in Wilcox County, will host an event on Gee's Bend quilts on Saturday, Oct. 5.Â
According to the event's Facebook page, Anderson grew up in Wilcox County where heritage arts were "created out of necessity." Her father owned The Camden Shoe Shoppe.
As an adult she lived abroad but moved back to Wilcox County and opened the Camden Shoe Shoppe Museum to honor her father and provide education on the local history.Â
On Oct. 5, Cornwallis 1828 will host her event featuring a tea tasting from brews made from local plants and there will be an exhibit for the Gee's Bend quilts.Â
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here.Â
