Dallas County Emergency Management Agency will be distributing emergency backpacks to senior citizens and disabled citizens at various locations around the county during the month of March.
Dallas County EMA Director Toya Stiles said there will be an educational presentation and door prizes just before she gives away the bags at each location. Each bag contains an AM/FM Radio, A package with mask, gloves and a whistle. There is also a first aid kit and emergency food and water. A flashlight and a light stick, emergency poncho and blanket are included.
Stiles said the giveaways will be first come, first serve at the following locations and times:
March 7 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Plantersville Baptist Church 11817 County Road 63.
March 8 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Orrville Community Center 463 Academy Street Orrville.
March 9 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Old Shiloh School / Sardis Community Center 6200 County Road 30 Sardis.
March 10 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Maranatha Chapel 300 Dan-O-Bridge Road.
March from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Dallas County Administrative Building (the Old Regions Bank Building) 101 Church Street Selma.
