The Dallas County Jail is getting some repairs.

The Dallas County Commission is responsible for the jail, and on a recent tour they were made aware of areas needing attention, according to Probate Judge and County Commission President Jimmy Nunn.

Commissioners were made aware of several leaks in the jail roof. “The commission got with our contractor and asked him to find a consultant to inspect the roof and determine if it can be repaired or if it needs replacing,” Nunn said. “We voted on that contract at the previous commission meeting. However, our attorney and the first consultant could not agree to terms. So, our attorney brought another consultant, William J. Peek, as an independent consultant to determine what we need to do to the roof.”
