Dallas County schools to dismiss early due to weather

All schools in Dallas County will dismiss early today ahead of potentially severe weather events.

Schools in Selma will begin with dismissal of pre-k at 1:30 p.m. Grades k-12 will follow at 2 p.m. The central office will close at 2:45 p.m.

All Dallas County schools will close at 2 p.m.

According to weather reports the west and southwest portion of Alabama is under a slight risk of gusty winds and isolated tornados.

Residents are advised to keep up with weather reports and take precautions as needed.
