Under the Friday night lights in Thorsby, the Thorsby High School Rebels delivered a commanding performance against the visiting Dallas County High School Hornets, securing a decisive 54-8 victory in front of a spirited home crowd.
The Rebels wasted no time asserting control of the game, jumping out to an early lead in the first quarter with back-to-back touchdown drives fueled by their high-powered offense.
Dallas County managed to avoid a shutout as Kentrell Hamilton finished with 14 carries and an 82-yard touchdown. Hamilton also finished with 2-3 passing with 30 yards and 2 catches for 36 yards. Russell Lindsey finished with 4-8 passing for 39 yards and Brytavian Roberson and Keithy Frye both finished with 6 tackles a piece.
“Thorsby is a well-coached team and they outplayed us.” said Dallas County head coach Darryl Watts. “We didn't execute and we made mistakes that hurt us. They were the better team tonight. But the season is not over. We're young, still growing and the playoffs are still in reach. I'm proud of these guys, there's no quit in them. We'll bounce back and be ready for Thomasville."
Dallas County plays Thomasville on the road Friday, Oct. 17.
