The Morgan Academy Senators claimed their second win of the season Friday night with a crushing 54-7 home victory over non-region opponent the Hooper Academy Colts. 

The Senators held Hooper to 95-yards total offense while Morgan Academy amassed 395 yards of total offense with 321-yards rushing and 74 yards passing. Patrick Johnson completed seven of seven passes for the 74 yards including one touchdown. 

The Senators also snagged three interceptions on defense.

Alex Johnson scored on a 27-yard run with 8:36 left in the first quarter to put the senators up 8-0 with the 2-point run by Sean Pope.

Pope rushed 50 yards for a touchdown to put Morgan up 16-0 with the 2-point run by Alex Johnson still in the first quarter.

Rhett Thomas caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Johnson to put the Senators over the Colts 24-0 with another 2-point run by Alex Johnson in the second quarter.

Spur McIntyre scored on a 1-yard run, and Thomas caught a pass for the 2-point play to put the Senators up 32-0 with 1:18 left in the half.

Pope opened the second half with a kickoff return of 90 yards to put the senators up 38-0. And Speedie Pernell ran the ball in for the 2-point play to make it a 40-0 lead.

With first and goal from the 5-yard line, William Ousley ran for the touchdown at the 5:03 mark of the third quarter. The point after kick was wide, but the Senators led 46-0.

The Hooper Academy Colts finally scored with 1:10 left in the game to make it a 46-7 game.

But the Senators were not through. A kickoff return of 92 yards by Pernell with 33 seconds left in the fourth quarter put the icing on the cake for Morgan. And Caine Mclaughlin ran the ball for the 2-point play to make it a 54-7 final.

The Senators will host Clarke Prep Gators on Friday, Sept. 5 for their first region game of the season.
