The Selma High flag football team picked up a 22-0 win Thursday after Wilcox Central forfeited their conference matchup.Â
Quarterback McKenzie Carter had another strong outing, completing 7 of 9 passes for 90 yards and a touchdown. She also added 25 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground.Â
On the receiving end, Safiya White turned in a big game with 60 yards and a 30-yard touchdown catch, while Rod’neisha Parker hauled in a 30-yard reception to help move the offense.Â
In the run game, Chasity Brown broke loose for 40 yards on just two carries.Â
Defensively, freshman J. Jackson grabbed an interception, and fellow freshman J. Robinson tallied a sack. Robinson also added a tackle in the win.Â
With the victory, Selma continues to build momentum in region play, leaning on its combination of offensive firepower and a defense that continues to deliver takeaways.Â
