Delta Regional Authority (DRA) is now accepting applications for the States’ Economic Development Assistance Program or SEDAP, which recently started its 2021 funding cycle.

SEDAP provides assistance for basic public infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, workforce development and small business development.

In accordance with federal law, at least 75% of the authority's funds must be invested in economically distressed counties and parishes.

“The [DRA's] mission is to help create jobs, build communities, and improve the lives of the 10 million people who reside in the 252 counties and parishes of the eight-state DRA region,” said DRA Spokeswoman Shawna Blair.

“Through SEDAP funding, DRA upholds our mission by providing targeted community development investments essential for regional sustainability and economic growth.”

The DRA provided statistics on SEDAP's investment data from 2020: DRA investment was over $27.9 million, total projects were 94, additional public and private investments amounted to $491.8 million, 10,344 jobs were created or retained, 9,471 individuals were trained, and 73,260 families were affected.

The deadline to apply is June 6.
