A student from Demopolis was among several others to be awarded a scholarship from Auburn University (AU) to study outside of the U.S.

AU student Trynnady Aldridge was one of four to be awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship.

She is a sophomore in the Harbert College of Business and majoring in marketing with a specialization in management and minors in organizational leadership, communication, music business and public relations.

She plans to study in London, England and Paris, France.

“Being selected for the Gilman Scholarship means validation,” said Aldridge in an announcement from AU. “As a first-generation student from a small rural town, opportunities like this remind me that my goals are bigger than my environment. It confirms that my hard work, leadership and commitment to growth are creating opportunities that can change my future.”
