Cornwallis 1828 is slated to kick off its Fourth Annual Doe Rodeo on Nov. 27 where hunters landowners, businesses, and Alabama communities will gather to help feed families in need.
The event will be held through Jan. 31, 2027 and aims to collect 250 legally harvested does for 40,000 people.
202 does were provided for 28,000 people last year, said a press release from Cornwallis 1828.
This year Doe Rodeo will present Big Push Week on Dec. 4-13 where hunters will be encouraged to make the "extra effort" to harvest does to meet the goal.
“The Doe Rodeo is about much more than hunting. It is about conservation, community, compassion, and neighbors helping neighbors. We are asking hunters throughout Alabama to join us in making this our most successful year yet,” said Demp Bell, who is the Founder and CEO of Cornwallis 1828.
Cornwallis 1828 seeks additional deer processors and can contact Bell at 251- 593-1770.
“This is Alabama hunters giving back to Alabama families,” said Bell. “Every donated deer brings us one step closer to helping another family in need.”
