East Selma homes to get new roofs thanks to $400,000 grant

A grant from Strengthen-Alabama-Homes will allow new roofing for 40 homes in east Selma to make them safer during weather events.

According to WAKA, the grant comes in the amount of $400,000 with the work to be done by Harzo, Incorporated.

The project is being done with the aim to revitalized what was called and underserved community in Ward 8 of Selma.

Selma Councilman Michael Johnson expressed his appreciation and said that the project will help those who live in the area.
