Five arrested and charged with capital murder in shooting death of Demopolis woman on Sunday

Five people have been charged with capital murder in the shooting death of a Demopolis teen on Sunday.

The teen was identified as Khiya King, 19, of Demopolis. Officers found her suffering from a gunshot wound at 8:26 p.m. at 908 South Glover St. Medical personnel rendered aid and transported her to Whitfield Regional Hospital, where she died, according to Chief Rex Flowers.

On Tuesday, officers and investigators from Demopolis Police Department along with task force agents from the 17^thJudicial Circuit Drug Task Force served search warrants on two residences located within the City of Demopolis. During the execution of the search warrants, several weapons were located along with other items of evidentiary value, the police report said. 

Demopolis Police arrested three adults and two juveniles in relation to this shooting. The adults arrested are Robert Lee Mosley III, age 22; Jaquan T. Brown, age 22; and Markell Hood, age 22, all of Demopolis. The two juveniles have not been identified because of their age and have also been charged with capital murder, Flowers said.

Officers and investigators at the scene located several fired shell casings from several different caliber weapons outside the residence along with damage to the residence as a result of the gunfire.
