Alabama River

A flood warning will be in effect starting Thursday morning through Saturday night for areas around the Alabama River.

The National Weather Service forecasts flooding to reach 68 feet at Millers Ferry Dam where issues can happen when it reaches flood stage of 66 feet.

At noon Tuesday, river level was at 47 feet. The river is expected to rise above flood level with a crest of 67.4 feet early Friday afternoon and fall below flood stage on Saturday afternoon. 

The Alabama River in Selma is marked at 30 feet as of 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and is expected to reach 40 feet by noon Thursday. Flood stage is 45 feet.  It is expected to start dropping Friday afternoon.

The Alabama River in Montgomery is marked at 29.8 feet Tuesday night but is predicted to reach 34.7 feet at 12 a.m. Thursday. Flood stage there is 35 feet. It is expected to drop soon after.
