Woodrow Lowe

Woodrow Lowe, who was a head coach at Selma High School (SHS) and a College Football Hall of Fame player, has died at the age of 71. 

According to CBS Sports, Lowe played for the Crimson Tide from 1972 to 1975 under Coach Bear Bryant. He began playing for the San Diego Chargers in 1976 before retiring in the late 1980s. 

As a native of Phenix City, Lowe eventually returned to the Black Belt. He coached for nine years at SHS, Smiths Station and Central. 

He died after contracting an illness.
