The fourth suspect, 20 year old Willie James Hunter, has been arrested in connection with the Jan. 31 shooting at Walmart.

Selma police have arrested the fourth suspect in connection with the Jan. 31 shooting at the Selma Walmart that left a bystander dead. 

Police Chief Kenta Fulford said Selma Police Criminal Division officers arrested Willie James Hunter, age 20, of Selma on Tuesday Feb. 4. He is being charged with capital murder and two counts of shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Tashun Roderick Benard Hunter, age 19, of Selma was arrested Monday, Feb. 3. He is also charged with capital murder and two counts of shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Both Willie James Hunter Hunter and Tashun Roderick Benard Hunter are being held at the Perry County Detention center under no bond pending a hearing

Saturday Feb. 1 the Selma Police arrested two juveniles, Terry James Jackson Jr., age 16, and Jonathan Latrell Webster, age 17, in connection with the Jan. 31 shooting. Both are charged with capital murder and discharging into an occupied vehicle. Both individuals are being held at the Perry Detention Center under no bond.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired at Walmart around 9 p.m. Jan. 31. Upon arrival, officers found several vehicles that had been struck by bullets. They also found Marcus Martin, age 40 of Selma, unresponsive inside his truck.

Selma Police Lt. Ray Blanks said in a news conference Saturday that Martin apparently “got caught up in the middle” of a disagreement between several males that started inside Walmart and “spilled out” into the parking lot and turned into a shootout.
