Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey visited ABC Elementary School in Alberta, Wilcox County, on Tuesday.

The visit was part of her back to school tour. Ivey went to Alberta from the dedication of the T-pier at Roland Cooper State Park in Camden for outdoors advocate James "Big Daddy" Lawler, who died in February.

Ivey met the fourth grade students who attend ABC Elementary in February at her State of the State Address in Montgomery. ABC was recognized by the governor as one of the state’s 15 Turnaround Schools.
