The 2025-2026 Governor’s App Challenge is open for students in grades K-12.

The challenge is a statewide coding competition that showcases the creativity and problem solving skills of students, said an announcement from Innovate Alabama. 

The competition takes individual students or teams of up to three members. Apps may be created in any language and platform. 

Students are asked to register here by Jan. 19, 2026. Winners will be announced on Jan. 30.
