A gun buyback will be hosted at Resurrection Catholic Missions in Montgomery on May 20 at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.Â
Anyone who is interested in surrendering a gun can bring in a rifle or shotgun for $50, a functioning handgun for $100 and an assault style/semi-auto rifle for $200.Â
All firearms that are turned in will be destroyed. Participants can bring in bb guns, air rifles, non-functioning firearms and knives but no compensation will be given for these.Â
Fit2Defend (2A Fitness) and CrimeStoppers will hold a self defense forum at 11 a.m. where participants can ask questions.Â

THROUGH 445 PM CDT...
At 407 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Bogue Chitto, or 10 miles southeast of Uniontown, moving northeast at
20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Selma, Valley Grande, Marion, Greensboro, Uniontown, Selmont-West
Selmont, Thomaston, Orrville, Newbern, Faunsdale, Dayton, Bogue
Chitto, Vaiden, Consul, Central Mills, Old Cahaba Park, Heiberger,
Dannelly Reservoir, Dallas County Horse Arena, and Paul M Grist State
Park.
