Williams is the founder of LIFT Ministries for inmates at the Dallas County Jail. She was recently recognized for her efforts there.

"Latanglia’s efforts to help others goes above and beyond her call of duty. She does remarkable work in the community serving those who are incarcerated; providing underwear, socks, and toiletries to both the women and men," said a comment on Facebook.

"Latanglia just recently provided Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for all the inmates, both women and men. She’s a servant for her community because she’s always giving to those who are in need."

Nominees for Local Hero of the Month are chosen based on contributions made to the community. The chosen nominee will be given $500 for "Outstanding Community Service" and a Certificate of Appreciation.
