Loveless Academic Magnet Program (LAMP) in Montgomery was included in the 2024 Best Magnet High Schools by usnews.com.
According to usnews.com, magnet schools differ from others in that they offer specialized courses and are centered around certain themes. They often use lottery systems or application processes to accept students.
To make the list by usnews.com schools are selected based on performance on state-required tests, graduation and college preparation.
LAMP ranked nine in the magnet rankings and 21 in national rankings. The school was noted for its "strong emphasis" on engaging with parents, as well as a curriculum that includes the International Baccalaureate program.
It was also noted for their advanced placement courses and competitive academic groups such as Scholars Bowl and Science Olympiad.
