The State Bureau of Investigation is searching for a possible suspect in the murder of two teens in Wilcox County last week.

Thomasville Mayor Sheldon Day reported on Saturday that Thomasville police were assisting the Wilcox County Sheriff’s Department, the Alabama Law Enforcement Investigative Division and other law enforcement agencies who are investigating three murders that occurred in Wilcox County “over the last few days.” Multiple reports say two of the victims were teenagers.

At the time, agencies were searching for a subject of interest in the Clarke Street area of Thomasville who was wanted for questioning related to the crimes that were not detailed.

Later, Day posted that SBI, US Marshals and FBI say the subject had left the area “prior to them searching the house on Clarke Street.”

“All local law enforcement agencies are working together to continue their work to assist the SBI, U.S. Marshals, and FBI as needed. We will update again once we are given additional information,” he said in the social media post.

More information will be released when learned.
