Local muralist Banks Compton will be the next grand marshal of the Demopolis Christmas on the River parade on Dec. 6.Â
Compton is the son of Hunter Compton, an attorney and Lisa Compton, owner of the Chanticleer Center.Â
He has collaborated with multiple businesses for artwork, including Walmart, Crayola, Black Rifle Coffee Company, Starbucks, and Beyond Gravity. He has painted murals on buildings in Demopolis, including the Chanticleer Center.Â
"Banks is deeply dedicated to uplifting West Alabama communities and inspiring the next generation to think creatively about career possibilities and the power of imagination, especially for those growing up in Demopolis," said an announcement from the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce.Â
