Johnny Cotney

The Lowndes County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who is a suspect in a series of thefts from homes. 

According to WSFA, the suspect is Johnny Cotney, 53, and is said to have warrants out of Lowndes and Elmore counties. 

Authorities say that he has been living in a wooded area near Pine Tuckett Road and Judge Road in the Hope Hull area east of Hayneville. Local law enforcement searched the area recently without success. 

Cotney is suspected of entering into empty homes and taking food items and other products. 

Anyone who has information about Cotney is encouraged to contact Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office at 334-548-2222.
