Camden water rates are increasing from $15 for the first 2,000 gallons to $20 and from $4 5o $5 for each 1,000 gallons after that.

The Lowndes County Water Authority met with Lowndes County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) on Tuesday to discuss coming up with a backup plan during water outages.

The Lowndes Signal noted that the county is able to borrow from the state and from other counties if a plan can be developed. During the meeting the Lowndes County Water authority requested that local water authorities turn in  plans for their own areas within two to four weeks.
