The Metro Area Crime Suppression (MACS) Unit in Montgomery was one of several other agencies to receive a grant from more than $176,000 by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA).
“Our state’s law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day to serve their communities,” said Gov. Kay Ivey in an announcement. “I am pleased to award these funds providing these officers with essential equipment updates to help them while they are protecting and serving.”
MACS received $69,816 for Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officers serving in the unit to be used for personal protective and surveillance equipment.
“Gov. Ivey has shown consistent support for providing law enforcement professionals with the tools they need to perform their duties effectively,” said ADECA Director Kenneth Boswell. “ADECA is pleased to join with the governor to provide these funds to these agencies.”
