A man from Grove Hill in Clarke County has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for distributing computer generated images of child sex abuse material.

A statement from U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello said that Chandler Broderick, 27, pleaded guilty on July 27.

In August of 2024 the FBI was tipped off about allegations that Broderick was harassing minors online. Investigators obtained his online accounts and found that he had sent computer generated images of child sexual abuse material to minors.

“Protecting children from online exploitation is a priority for this office, and those who use the internet to expose minors to obscene material depicting child sexual abuse will be held accountable,” said Costello. “We remain committed to working with our law enforcement partners to identify offenders, protect children, and pursue federal prosecution when warranted.”

Upon his sentence expiring Broderick will serve 15 years of supervised release and will be required to participate in sex offender treatment and mental health treatment.

He will be required to register as a sex offender and pay $200 in special assessments. He will also be prohibited from contact with minors.

“Those who sexually exploit children should understand that the FBI will pursue them relentlessly," said Jordan Hadfield, Assistant Special Agent in Charge, FBI Mobile. "These crimes inflict lasting harm, and Chandler Broderick’s sentence demonstrates the serious consequences of preying on vulnerable victims. Protecting children and bringing offenders to justice remain central to our mission of protecting the American people.”
