A man from Selma has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for a shooting in 2017 that left the victim blind in one eye.

According to a report by AL.com, Jeffery Bernard Harris, 43, was convicted in May of attempted murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

The incident was the result of an argument in the victim's car. Authorities learned that he exited the car before shooting the victim, leaving him with serious injuries and is blind in one eye.

The report says that Harris has several previous convictions that include armed robbery and being a felon in possession of a gun. He was convicted under the Habitual Offender Act.
