A man was sentenced to two decades in prison after being convicted of robbing a sleeping victim inside of a car in Montgomery in 2023.
According to an announcement from Montgomery District Attorney Azzie Oliver, Michael Boone and an unnamed accomplice entered a car with victim asleep in the diver's seat at the 100 block of N. Burbank Drive on April 28, 2023.
Boone and the accomplice were armed and Boone repeatedly struck the victim in the head, said Oliver's announcement. They then stole the victim’s cash, jewelry, and a gun before fleeing.
“Armed robberies are dangerous, violent crimes that put innocent lives at risk," Oliver stated. "When individuals use firearms to threaten, assault, and rob others, they must be held accountable. This 20-year sentence sends a clear message: those who engage in violent criminal activity involving firearms will face serious consequences, and my office will pursue prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.”
