Demopolis High School proved that Tigers are immune from Yellowjacket stings as they celebrated their homecoming by defeating Aliceville High School 34-12. Â
Aliceville scored a touchdown but not the extra points in each of the first two quarters, but the Tigers waved off the pesky Yellowjackets by scoring four touchdowns in the first half. The Tigers scored another touchdown in the third quarter for a final score of 34-12.Â
Tigers Head Coach Ricky Woods called on Jamarcus Davis often in the game, and he delivered. The Tigers also showed off an improved passing game. And quarterback JW McAlpin gained some yards with some slashing quarterback keepers.Â
Both defenses played tough. Demopolis forced Aliceville to turn the ball over on downs twice, and drives were stalled by sacks and one interception. Aliceville forced Demopolis to turn the ball over on downs once and came down with two interceptions.Â
The nonconference win gives Demopolis a record of 3-2 and 2-0 in the region. Aliceville is 1-4 for the season and 0-2 in their region. Â
