It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sam Omar, who departed this life peacefully on February 3, 2026, at the age of 74.
Sam attended the University of Alabama and moved to Demopolis in 1988, where he opened his business and built a life rooted in hard work and community. He had a deep love for Demopolis and its people. Even after living elsewhere for a short time, he returned to reopen his final business, remaining dedicated to the town he proudly called home.
He was a devoted husband to Mona for 47 years and a loving father to Mike, Joanna, Andrew, and Christopher Omar. He was a proud grandfather to Noah.
The burial was held in Birmingham on February 4, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity dear to his heart.
Sam’s kindness, generosity, and love for his family and community will be deeply missed.
