Four arrests have been made in connection with a May 14 shooting in Marion during an attempted robbery.
Marion Police Department said the incident took place around 10 p.m. when multiple shots were fired into an occupied vehicle as the suspects fled the scene. Despite the multiple shots that were fired, no one was injured.Â
The arrests include Chrishawn King, 21, Makaela Rutledge and Da’Quarrius Brooks, both 19, and a 16-year-old. They are all from Marion.
The three older suspects have been charged with attempted robbery, two counts of attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, criminal conspiracy, first-degree criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
They are being held in Marengo County jail. Rutledge is held on $102,000 bond, Brooks with $222,000 bond and King on a $273,000 cash bond.
The 16-year-old was arrested on May 21 and charged with two counts of attempted murder, attempted robbery in the first degree, shooting into an occupied vehicle, certain persons forbidden to possess firearms, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief in the first degree. He is being held in Jefferson County jail with a $207,000 cash bond.
Marion police department in a statement thanked the community and the families of the individuals for their patience and cooperation during the investigation.Â
