Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery held a ceremony on Friday, May 31 to welcome a new type of helicopter.

According to WAKA, the MH-139 Grey Wolf helicopter will be replacing the Air Force's UH-1N Huey fleet.

The MH-139 will be used to support missions such as nuclear security, transportation of officials, and escape training, as well as security forces survival.

The base had previously housed the C-130 cargo aircraft until the spring of 2022.

The MH-139 Grey Wolf helicopter is said to be faster than the Huey and is able to support more people and cargo.
