May Day at Southside High School

Friday May 2 was May Day for students at Southside High School and Tipton Middle School.

Students from both schools assembled on the Southside practice field for a day of outdoor events. Children over the age of 18 were also able to register to vote. Over 10 students were sent to register by one of their school leaders, Miss Savage.

The Hot Boy Stable brought some calm horses to show children how to enjoy a ride on a horse safely. The horses ranged in size, and each was trained to behave in the midst of large (and loud) crowds.

Langdon Enterprises served their Nutrition 27 drinks, and students enjoyed a live DJ, a water slide and bouncy house. An Army recruiter brought along an exercise display.

Students enjoyed bean bag tossing courtesy of the Council on Substance Abuse, a volleyball game, a hot potato game and sack racing.

A few of the girls from the volleyball team (and others) started their own volleyball game, which turned into a coed kickball game.

Teachers from both Southside High and Tipton Middle School monitored the action in their respective school colors.

Everyone there were all smiles, in spite of the blaring heat.
