MJ 93-90 Family Fun Day returns with big crowd, big events and back to school giveaway

Everyone had fun on the water slides and in the jumpy house.

After being canceled last year due to COVID-19, the MJ 93-90 Foundation’s Family Fun Day and Back to School Giveaway returned in a big way on Saturday.

The event, organized by retired NFL star Michael Johnson and his parents Thomasene and Sam Johnson, was held at the YMCA and drew a large crowd.

In the parking lot were face painting for the kids, lots of different games, a jumpy house and three water slides. There was food and plenty of cold water. There were also plenty of vendors. Inside were bingo for the adults and video games. Music was playing the whole time except when Michael Johnson got on the microphone to remind everyone to drink plenty of water because it was such a hot, humid day. While the activities and games were going on, all the school kids received backpacks filled with school supplies.
