MMI men's, women's cross country teams finish 10th in Falcon Classic

The Marion Military Institute (MMI) men and women's cross-country teams finished in 10th place respectively in the Falcon Classic at the University of Montevallo. 

In the Lady Tigers team freshman Joan Patton recorded a PR with a time of 22:22 for 33rd in the 5k race, said an online announcement.

Following her was Lauren Clayton at 23:15, Anna Martin at 24:31, Gwyneth Lope at 24:35, Jakiyia Sealey at 24:42, Sipriana Hill at 24:45, Kiliyah Taylor at 29:28, Iris Salmeron at 29:35, Courtney Teesdale at 29:48, Mystery Rowe at 30:45, and Kearston Taylor at 31:52.

In the men's 8k race freshman Richard Lessmann recorded 27:51). Following him was Braeden Burch at 27:58, Abubakr Jallow at 30:23, Jeremy Garcia at 31:18, Joshua Romero at 32:22, Amarion Booker at 32:36, Michael Cody at 33:02, and Malachi Charley at 34:27.

On Friday, Sept. 13 the teams will be in Huntsville for the Southern Showcase at the John Hunt Morgan Park, which is the site of the 2024 ACCC Regional Championship. 

The men's 8k will be held at 7:30 a.m., followed by the women's 5k at 8:30 a.m.
