Marion Military Institute (MMI) used a grant from Megan Montgomery Foundation to host a presentation by speaker Dr. Jessica Houston about preventing domestic violence.

Titled "Empower Yourself Against Domestic Violence", Houston spoke about spotting red flags that can lead to such relationships. She was noted for saying, "Never date a person's potential. It's not your job to change them."

Her message also focused on "maximizing self-awareness and nurturing healthy relationships" and led cadets in chanting affirmations.

MMI thanked the foundation for providing the grant, which was given earlier this year.
