Montgomery was spotlighted in an article by National League of Cities, which noted small businesses and economic development.Â
The article describes the support of small businesses being amped up when the COVID pandemic hit. This brought about the American Rescue Plan Act or ARPA to assist businesses impacted.Â
The Access Montgomery Task Force was created to help these businesses thrive. The City Inclusive Entrepreneurship (CIE) was also created then, to provide resources on entrepreneurship.Â
Some notes that the article highlights are lessons gleaned from the economic situation in the city. These were namely networking, community support, keep new ideas backed up, and speaking honestly with partners.Â
