The Montgomery County Appraisal Department has moved to a new office after being temporarily housed in the sheriff's office.

The new location is now on the second floor of 125 Washington Avenue, inside Annex II of the Montgomery County Courthouse, said a recent announcement.

It is part of Montgomery County's Revenue Commissioner’s Office and consists of Real Property, Business Personal Property, and Mapping.

"Each section plays an important role in valuing property under Act 160 of the Alabama Legislature that created the statewide reappraisal program and specified that all property is to be appraised at fair and reasonable market value using mass appraisal methods," said the announcement.

A website for the department can be found at www.mc-ala.org/appraisal.
