The Montgomery Police Department has implemented a STAR Watch program that allows civilians to share camera footage after emergency or crime events take place.

The program will reportedly help detectives gather evidence from cameras that are registered with the program.

"Your participation will significantly enhance emergency preparedness by allowing police, fire, and public safety professionals to better assess and rapidly respond to criminal activity and emergencies," said a post on MPD's Facebook page. "It will also enable detectives to gather evidence in case of an incident quickly."

A website with an FAQ section for the MPD STAR Watch program can be seen here.
