The Montgomery transit system has received an upgrade after nearly $3 million was invested by the city.

Part of the investment was local while part was federal to "optimize" the transit fleet five new 26-passenger buses, two 20-passenger buses and three new microtransit executive-style shuttles.

"The shuttles will be included in a new system that runs passengers between downtown and Montgomery Regional Airport via app, web-based and dial-in interfaces," said an announcement on the city's Facebook page. "We'll bring more shuttles online soon that will expand these routes to hubs across the community!"
