A 100kg sheep called Rambo got stuck in a concrete pipe - trying to hide from nine amorous ewes.
The massive ram got wedged in the culvert on its farm while ''taking a well-earned break from his romantic duties."
It prompted a call to Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service on Sunday (September 13).
Teams managed to slide Rambo out using "a number of different pieces of equipment" - including chimney rods, ropes and a heart sheet placed underneath him.
Rambo's owner, Bex Maynard, said he emerged "completely unharmed" and has been safely reunited with his nine ewes.
Bex, who runs Western Farm in Kingsdon, Somerset, said: "Judging by Rambo's expression afterwards, he emerged considerably less concerned by the whole episode than everyone else involved.
"We really cannot thank the crews enough for coming out, taking such care of the daft bugger and getting him safely out."
Following the sheep's release, Bex immediately installed a gate and mesh across the entrance to the culvert.
To avoid embarrassment for Rambo, Bex stressed that he currently has "nine rather amorous ewes all competing for his undivided attention" and a "chap is entitled to a little peace and quiet occasionally".
Bex said: "Rambo maintains that he was simply taking a well-earned break from his romantic duties while simultaneously inspecting the structural integrity of the bridge from underneath."
The fire service crew said due to the "unique nature" of the incident, the team had to "think outside the box" to pull off the rescue - relying on equipment carried on the fire engine.
Bex has set up a fundraiser to raise funds for the Fire Fighters charity and The Farmers charity.
