Do not cross II

A pedestrian from Orrville died in an accident that took place on Wednesday night in Lowndes County. 

A statement from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) reported that occurred at approximately 4:55 a.m. 

William J. Atkins, 25, was walking on the roadway on Highway 80 when he was hit by a 2021 Honda Civic being driven by Reneca C. Gregory, 45, of Selma. Atkins was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Gregory was injured and transported for treatment. 

The accident near the 108 mile marker, approximately three miles east of White Hall
