Road sign road work ahead

More than $3.7 million has been granted by the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) for road projects throughout the state. 

The funds come from ALDOT's Annual Grant Program created by the Rebuild Alabama Act.

“Rebuild Alabama is doing exactly what we promised – fixing roads and bridges in every corner of our state,” said Gov. Kay Ivey in an announcement. “With every round of funding, we’re seeing real improvements along our busiest highways and the local roads Alabamians rely on every day. This is a smart, long-term investment at work, and Alabama is better for it.”

See below for a list of Black Belt communities who will benefit and the total cost: 

Lisman in Choctaw County to resurface six city streets: $250,000 

Franklin in Macon County to resurface CR-48 from CR-36 to CR-101: $325,000

Montgomery in Montgomery County to resurface Jackson Ferry Road from SR-152 to Alabama River Parkway: $243,439.89

Sumter County to resurface CR-12 (Carl Turk 12) from SR-17 to US-11: $2,762,896

Pine Hill in Wilcox County to resurface six local streets: $292,266
