A man from Pickens County has been arrested and hit with multiple charges related to drug trafficking.
A recent announcement identified Darrell Hinton as the suspect of an investigation by the the Pickens County Sheriff's Office in partnership with West Alabama Narcotics Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
According to the announcement deputies and DEA agents purchased methamphetamine from Hinton before a search warrant was obtained for his residence.
During the search, authorities reportedly found approximately 114 grams of methamphetamine, 12 grams of cocaine, 282 grams of marijuana, and a quantity of hydrocodone pills, and a stolen firearm.
“This case is another example of what can be accomplished when local and federal agencies work together,” said Sheriff Jordan Powell. “We will continue to partner with our state and federal counterparts to combat the flow of this poison into our communities and hold those who distribute it accountable.”
